Hiding Behind Sound is the psychologically accurate musical alias of Hudson Valley drummer Sammi Niss (Laura Stevenson, Battle Ave., Frankie and His Fingers). The hurt cool of the songwriting and the unvarnished vocals suggest the influence of Jeff Tweedy and the Velvet Underground; the lavish guitar arrangements and tidal dynamics belong more to the tradition of Radiohead and post-rock. She just calls it “space twang.”

Shamsi Ruhe is a singer and songwriter with a female folk/alternative music vibe likened to Tracy Chapman and The Weepies. She has worked with Grammy award winning producers Paul Kolderie (Pixies, Warren Zevon, The Go-Go’s, Hole, Radiohead), Dean Jones (Dog On Fleas and The Felice Brothers), and Paul Ebersold (3 Doors Down, Sister Hazel).

Kryptonian Halo (Brian Dewan, Scott Petito, David Garland, Ross Goldstein, and Rodney Greenblat) began as “Mellotron Monday,” a collective of local notables from multiple musical disciplines performing a euphonious, listener-friendly improvised electronic music.
